While Y 1883 Season 1 is a treat for the fans, its climax turned out to be a disaster for many characters. The season finale marked the death of some fan-favorite characters which turned the fans to tears. 

With the 1883 Episode 10 wrapping up, we know the fate of Elsa Dutton, one of the main protagonists of the series. However, one question that is trending on social media is – Is Sam dead? Here is everything we know so far.

Note – This article has some spoilers from 1883 episode 10, “This Is Not Your Heaven.” 

With episode 10 of 1883 opening up, the fans get a breath of relief as Elsa is still alive. Moreover, with the episode reaching its middle, we find Elsa on the mend. Elsa’s fever was gone and she revealed she was feeling better. 

While the fans were gathering some hopes that their favorite character may survive this time, the plot dropped a bomb. After a couple of days, Elsa got back her fever and she started experiencing deep pain from the arrow wound. Soon, the fans got the heart-breaking news of Elsa’s death. 

But what happened to her lover Sam? Did Sam die in 1883?

With Elsa taking her last breath, we see Sam alone on a horse, far away. However, to the shock, Elsa shows up on her horse near him. This is where dreams merge with memories.

The sudden voice-over adds spice to the plot as it reveals, “The land is filled with all you hold dear, and the sky is your imagination. My Heaven is filled with good horses and open plains and wild cattle and a man who loves me.” 

So, does this point towards Sam’s potential death? It could be possible that Sam had already died and Elsa met her in heaven.
