On 10th June of this year, we got to know that Netflix had cast two big named stars for this sequel including Uma Therman who is best known for her acting in Kill Bill, Batman & Robin, Pulp Fiction and the second member of the cast added was Henry Golding best known for Crazy Rich Asians, The Gentlemen & Netflix’s movie Persuasion.

Gina Prince-Bythewood directed the first part of this movie but won’t be returning for the sequel, as she’ll remain a producer.
She said in August 2021 that she loves the old guard’s story & characters & she is honored to bring it into the world. She also added that she won’t be directing the sequel but will of course be part of it as a producer.
Instead, the director’s chair is being handed over to Victoria Mahoney who assisted on the Star Wars franchise before The Old Guard 2.
