From the uncomfortable brittle, mushy gore and the mist-filled world that almost looks like it could exist in the Alien universe, through to weapons that snap and crush with uncomfortable composure during use and the enemies themselves that either lack a face entirely or resemble dreadfully massive graceless members, Scorn’s visual style is delightfully horrible and possibly sleep murdering stuff.
How Did Scorn Begin Development?
Long before its reemergence in 2020, developer Ebb Software originally went down the crowdfunding route for Scorn to get the game made on their terms.
It was intended that Scorn would be released in two parts, but the first Kickstarter campaign failed to reach the required level of support funding in December 2014. After this, a private investment in 2015, followed by a successful second Kickstarter campaign in 2017, led Scorn to relinquish its previously proposed two-part release strategy in favor of a unified game that would be quietly locked away in development before being revealed in 2020 for PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
