Riverdale, the adventures of Archie Andrews and friends are coming to an end, and will be ending with the seventh season, The CW announced on Thursday. Riverdale season 7 is scheduled to begin in 2023. The CW hasn’t announced how many episodes will be included in the season.

Riverdale is in the process of season 6 which premiered in November 2021. Season 6 will consist of 16 episodes and is scheduled to finish at the end of May. 

The CW revealed Riverdale’s seventh season will time be a mid-season program which means it’s expected to begin in the winter of next year, one year after season 6’s premiere.

The cast comprises KJ Apa playing Archie, Lili Reinhart as Betty, Camila Mendes as Veronica, Cole Sprouse as Jughead, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl, Madchen Amick as Alice, Charles Melton as Reggie as well as Vanessa Morgan as Toni. Luke Perry starred in the show as Archie’s father from the time of his death in 2019.

Aguirre Sacasa is executive producer, alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions as well as Jon Goldwater, publisher and the CEO of Archie Comics. Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios produce.

Riverdale Season 7 Sneak Peek 

Riverdale or Riverdale season 7 specifically is one of the three scripted originals which were covered under The CW’s previous Netflix output agreement.

 The other two, All American and The Flash both ate scheduled for 2022-2023 and are the only remaining shows from the previous $1 billion agreement The CW’s corporate owners, Paramount Global and Warner Bros. 

Discovery decided not to renew in order to allow its original shows to be able to stream across their platforms. Paramount+ and HBO Max. 

Riverdale Season 7 of the show was renewed back in March together with other CW series The Flash, All American, Superman & Lois, Walker, Kung Fu, and Nancy Drew. Season 6 is currently on air every Sunday at 8/7c. Season 7 will be held until the midseason and will premiere in 2023. 

The number of episodes is still to be determined However, Pedowitz has stated that he believes that he “not believe that it is going to be a shorter season.”

Season 6 continued the place Season 5 ended, with Archie and Betty choosing to give their relationship another chance, right as the bomb set in the bed of Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) under Archie’s mattress was about to explode. 

Oddly enough, the bomb does not explode, and when Archie and Betty get up in the morning they’re still living in the small town of Riverdale with their lives in Riverdale but only a distant memory.
