SNL has lost the most iconic entertainers of all time. The notable faces – Kyle Mooney, Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, and Kate McKinnon have finally walked out of the show.

While the fans were shocked at the exit of so many popular faces at once, Davidson’s latest post added an extra emotional pinch to them. Pete wrote a heartwarming post on Instagram and dropped a video of the emotional reaction of the crew, celebrating with Jerrod Carmichael.

Davidson said in his latest post, “From Pete: This video was taken 8 years ago, Jerrod sent it to me last night and it made me super emotional in the best way. In the video, I had just gotten back from doing my very first update and sketch. It’s crazy to think that today I will be doing my last one. When I got the show I was 20 years old and I had no idea what I was doing. I still don’t but especially back then. I wasn’t really a sketch performer, I was just a stand-up.”

Davidson unleashed a storm of emotion on social media revealing his true connections with the show. He continued to share his feelings about his initial days on Saturday Night Live.

He said, “I knew I could never keep up or go toe to toe with Kenan Thompson or Kate McKinnon so I was super scared at figuring out what I could possibly bring to or do for such a historic, respected show and platform.”

He further said, “I figured since I am a stand up I will just try my stand-up and personal bits on Weekend Update as myself and I am so glad I did. I got to share so much with this audience and literally grow up in front of your eyes.”

Davidson then went on to continue praising the cast and crew who supported him throughout the journey. He revealed, “We were together through the good and the bad, the happiest and the darkest of times. I love Lorne Michaels and everyone at SNL. I am so grateful and I would not be here without them. I appreciate you guys always having my back and sticking up for me even when that was not the popular opinion. Thank you for always believing in me and sticking by my side even when it seemed comical.
