McKenzie recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly about his experience working with director Edgar Wright on the set of our new movie, “The Last night in Soho.”

In the course of his conversation, McKenzie described Wright as a true auteur and said, “For The Last Night in Soho, he prepared a list of 50 horror and psychological thriller movies from the 1950s, including “Don’t Look Now,” “Rosemary’s Baby,” and “Repulsion.” He encouraged us to watch all of them to better understand the tone, the visuals, and the psychological thriller he was trying to achieve.”

The level of detail he put into the storyboards was impressive. He had storyboards for every shot in the entire movie. Each shot had a storyboard, and once it was complete, it went into a box with the other finished shots. He knew what he wanted and was meticulous in his planning.

We think that’s why the movie turned out so well. Wright had a clear vision, and he executed it flawlessly.
