Marvel fans might not have to bid the Guardians of the Galaxy farewell in full next year. The Guardians of the Galaxy are slated to star in two upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, following their anticipated appearance in this year’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Since 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the team’s last solo adventure will take place in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which will air on Disney+ later this year.
Unfortunately, it appears from a number of comments made by both James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer, that the 2023 movie will also mark the final appearance of the current iteration of the Guardians on screen.
In fact, many Marvel fans now believe that the titular team of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will lose most, if not all, of its members. Thankfully, a recent MCU leak indicates that might not be the case.
So, with so much anticipation around the movie, we are here with some crazy Guardians of the Galaxy 3 leaks and spoilers.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Leaks
The conclusion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord and Cosmo, a beloved Marvel Comics character, getting ready to form a new superhero team, according to a tweet from Marvel insider Great Phase earlier this week.
Given that Cosmo formerly held the position of Chief of Security at Knowhere in the comics, it seems likely that the duo will reportedly be based there.
Additionally, according to Greatphase, Phyla-Vell and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) will both still be alive at the conclusion of the movie.
If accurate, it would seem reasonable to assume that the two individuals will be in a position to join Star-Lord and Cosmo’s new team.
While Phyla-Vell’s appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hasn’t been confirmed either, Daniela Melchior, who starred in The Suicide Squad, is currently rumored to play the character in the movie.
The New Guardians
Remember to take all of the aforementioned statements with a grain of salt for the time being, as is always the case with purported Marvel leaks like this.
Until more information about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is formally announced, we won’t know how accurate any of these alleged details are.
That being said, it wouldn’t be unexpected if the plot of the movie developed in the manner that this leak suggests.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will mark the final appearance of the Guardians as fans have come to know and love them, according to James Gunn, who has stated this numerous times.
In fact, it has always seemed highly likely that the movie will set up the creation of a new iteration of the Guardians, especially with a character like Adam Warlock already scheduled to make his film debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
What is unknown, however, is whether or not Star-Lord and Cosmo will be the driving forces behind the creation of the MCU’s Guardians 2.0.
The Inverse Analysis
It appears inevitable that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will make it necessary for MCU fans to bid farewell to a few of the franchise’s original characters.
It’s not yet known which of the movie’s heroes will still be alive when it concludes, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 viewers shouldn’t anticipate seeing any more of Bautista’s Drax.
Fans will, regrettably, have to wait to learn whether the information in this leak about Star-future Lord in the MCU is accurate.
