Chris Hemsworth is back on the front with his new movie Thor: Love and Thunder. He surpasses Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Spider-Man as the first member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to star in four different films.
If Thor: Love and Thunder is Hemsworth’s final Marvel movie, he will do so in style. Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, Matt Damon, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi are among the five Academy Award winners who will appear alongside him on screen.
Based on their Metacritic average ratings, we are ranking the five Oscar winners for Thor: Love and Thunder!!
5 Oscar Winners Who Will Star In Chris Hemsworth In Thor: Love And Thunder
Taika Waititi

- Average Metacritic Score: 69
- Jojo Rabbit won the Oscar for best-adapted screenplay.
Waititi performs a variety of tasks. He has numerous credits in each of the following categories: writer, director, producer, and actor, according to IMDb. This is especially true since Eagle vs. Shark, which he helped bring to the big screen as a writer-director and supporting actor in 2007.
Waititi wrote the script for Love and Thunder, which he claims is much deeper than the previous film, after directing and playing Korg in Thor: Ragnorak (and lying to Marvel to get the job).
Matt Damon

- Average Metacritic Score: 63
- Good Will Hunting won the Oscar for best original screenplay.
In an uncredited cameo, Damon played the actor who plays Loki in Thor: Ragnorak. Because he joined the main cast this time, he must know a few powerful people in Hollywood. (That sentence is in the sarcastic font.) Damon got Thor’s role only because Waititi and Hemsworth asked him to play Ragnorak.
Christian Bale

- Average Metacritic Score: 62
- The Fighter won the Oscar for best actor.
Bale, like Crowe, appeared in a DC Comics film before making an MCU appearance. Of course, in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, Bale played Bruce Wayne/Batman. In Man of Steel, Crowe played Jor-El. But in Love and Thunder, they’re at opposite ends of the good/bad spectrum.
While Bale portrays Gorr the God Butcher, a villain writer, and director Waititi dubbed one of the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Crowe plays the god Zeus. In 2011, Bale received his first Oscar nomination for The Fighter.
Russell Crowe

- Average Metacritic Score: 59
- Gladiator won the Best Actor Oscar.
Russell Crowe was not a fan of the Gladiator script, but after meeting with director Ridley Scott, he agreed to star in the film.
Before he agreed to star in Thor: Love and Thunder, the epic movie helped him earn his first Academy Award, which followed a string of positive reviews. Between being nominated for 1999’s The Insider and 2001’s A Beautiful Mind, Crowe won for 2000’s Gladiator.
Natalie Portman

- Average Metacritic Score: 57
- Black Swan won the Best Actress Oscar.
After 2013’s The Dark World, Portman took a break from the Thor films, but she makes a comeback as Jane Foster and brings Mjolnir with her.
Portman jumped at the opportunity to work with Kenneth Branagh on Thor and, as she once joked, to make Hemsworth appear even larger than he is. Portman changed her focus after winning her Oscar for Black Swan when she played the lead role in Thor.
